In daily conversation, we often find ourselves observing the appearance of people or things and making guesses about them. In this lesson, we will introduce how to express your subjective judgments based on the appearance of people and things.
“It looks ~ / It seems ~ / It appears ~” = “~ có vẻ (như) ~”
“Có vẻ” is equivalent to “it looks ~” or “it seems ~” in English. Since “có” means “to have” and “vẻ” means “appearance,” together “có vẻ” literally means “to have the appearance of ~” or “to look/seem ~.” Please remember it this way.
