Emily Chào Nga. Chị mới mua xe máy.

Since when did you know how to ride a motorbike?
Emily Từ khi sang Việt Nam được 3 tháng.
Since I had been in Vietnam for 3 months.
Quả thật ở Việt Nam nếu không biết đi xe máy thì rất bất tiện.
It’s truly inconvenient if you don’t know how to ride a motorbike in Vietnam.
Nga Đúng vậy. Học cách đi xe máy ở Việt Nam vất vả lắm đúng không chị.
That’s right. Learning to ride a motorbike in Vietnam must be really tough, right?
Emily Ừ. Giao thông Việt Nam rất phức tạp.
Yeah. Traffic in Vietnam is very complicated.
Ban đầu khi đến Việt Nam, chị đã rất shock. Chị chưa bao giờ nhìn thấy nhiều xe máy như thế.
When I first arrived in Vietnam, I was really shocked. I had never seen so many motorbikes before.
Nga Bởi vì ở Việt Nam chủ yếu mọi người di chuyển bằng xe máy.
That’s because people in Vietnam mainly travel by motorbike.
Emily Việc học cách đi xe máy thì không khó lắm. Nhưng thực tế lái xe ở Việt Nam thì rất khó. Nhất là đối với người nước ngoài.
Learning how to ride isn’t too hard. But actually driving in Vietnam is very difficult. Especially for foreigners.

Emily Ban đầu khi lái xe máy ở Việt Nam, chị rất sợ. Vất vả nhất là những lúc tắc đường.
Nhưng dần dần trở nên quen và giờ thì đã không sao.
At first, driving a motorbike in Vietnam was very scary. The hardest part is during traffic jams.
But I gradually got used to it and now it’s fine.
Nga Tốt quá.
That’s great.
Bây giờ mỗi ngày chị đều đi xe máy đúng không?
Do you ride your motorbike every day now?
Emily Ừ. Đi làm, đi chơi, đi mua sắm, chị đều đi xe máy.
Yes. I ride my motorbike to work, to hang out, and to go shopping.
Thật sự rất tiện. Không cần phải đợi tàu như ở Mỹ.
It’s really convenient. I don’t have to wait for the train like in the US.
Nga Nhưng đi xe máy những ngày mưa thì vất vả lắm đấy.
But riding a motorbike on rainy days is really tough.
Emily Đúng vậy.
That’s right.
Nên những lúc trời nắng thì chị tranh thủ đi nhiều nơi.
So when it’s sunny, I try to make the most of it and go to as many places as possible.

Emily Có chứ. Chị học cách đi xe máy mục đích là để đi du lịch mà.
Of course. My goal in learning to ride a motorbike was to go traveling.
