A “concession” refers to a connection where the preceding and succeeding clauses have an opposing relationship, or where the expected result from the first clause does not happen in the second clause. In English, conjunctions like “but,” “although,” “though,” and “even though” are often used to express this. In Vietnamese, the structures “Tuy ~ nh\u01b0ng ~” or “M\u1eb7c d\u00f9 ~ nh\u01b0ng ~” are used for this purpose.<\/p>\n
