In this lesson, we will learn about parallel expressions (coordinate structures) in Vietnamese.<\/p>\n

In Lesson 27, we introduced how to express two qualities of the same person or thing simultaneously using the “v\u1eeba ~ v\u1eeba ~” structure. In this lesson, let’s learn about other ways to use the “v\u1eeba ~ v\u1eeba ~” sentence structure by changing the parts of speech (such as verbs and nouns)!<\/p>\n

Predicate as a Verb: “doing ~ while doing ~” Structure<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Explanation: <\/strong>This expression is used when two actions are taking place simultaneously or in parallel.<\/p>\n

Explanation: <\/strong>This is also used when someone or something has two identities or qualities. However, in this case, nouns cannot be used directly as predicates in Vietnamese. Instead, the verb “l\u00e0” (to be) is added as the predicate, followed by Noun \u2460 and Noun \u2461 as complements to complete the meaning of the sentence.<\/p>\n
